style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">This dissertation studied the electrochemistry of corrosion of carbon steel in saline solutions (0.6 mol.l-1NaCl) and in acidic medium of hydrochloric acid in different pH (1,2,4) and in a temperature range of (298-308 K) using potentiostatic technique, which gave the current densities and corrosion potential. Practical results showed the following:<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">1-The increase of acidity of medium leads to increase in the corrosion current density, which reaches its maximum value (410 \u00b5A.cm-2) when pH=1 and temperature=308K, simultaneously corrosion potential (Ecorr-) fluctuates, due to heterogeneity of corrosion process on the surface of metal.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">2-The addition of chloride ion (NaCl 0.6 mol.l-1) to the acidic medium, results in increase in values of corrosion current densities, and corrosion potentials become more negative (active direction).<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">3-Inhibition effect of Tetracycline, Deoxytetracycline and Tetracycline Chloride on carbon steel had been studied insaline acidic solution (HCl pH=1), in temperature range (298-308K) and concentration range of (0.5\u00d710-4,1\u00d710-4,2\u00d710-4) mol.dm-3.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">Inhibition efficiencies were calculated, and results showed that, the highest one, was (98.11 ) in 298K, which is by using ( Tetracycline). Also, inhibition efficiency increase as the concentration of inhibitor increases but, it decreases as the temperature degrees increase.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">4-Corrosion kinetics had been studied, using corrosion current values and their dependence on temperature degrees, in the presence and absence of inhibitors. Arrhenius equation had been used to calculate activation energy values, by drawing the relation between logarithm of the corrosion rate (corrosion current density logIcorr.) and the inverse of temperature value (1\/T). It had been found that activation energy values are higher when using inhibitors compared those in the absence of inhibitors, which indicates that the inhibitor increased energy barrier to higher levels, i.e., corrosion rate decreased due to use of inhibitor and it reaches the highest level of Ea of carbon steel in the existence of the antibiotic ( 109.44 \u00a0) . A linear relationship was found for (Ea) and logA in the studied system, which suggests compensation effect in the kinetics of inhibition. Corrosion reactions supposed to initiate on positions with lower Ea first there \u00a0\u00a0after propagating to those with higher Ea.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">5- (\u0394G\u00ba,\u0394H\u00ba,\u0394S\u00ba) values of corrosion reaction had been calculated and they were all negative. The negativity of \u00a0\u00a0\u0394G\u00ba reflects the spontaneity of the reaction, while the negativity of \u0394H\u00ba reflects that the reaction is exothermic.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">6-Values of (\u0394G\u00ba,\u0394H\u00ba,\u0394S\u00ba and Kads)were obtained for inhibition operation using three antibacterial drugs ( tetracycline, tetracycline hydrochloride ,deoxy tetracycline) as inhibitors for carbon steel corrosion. The inhibitors effect was rely on their adsorption process on carbon steel surface. The adsorption operation fit to Langmuir isotherm.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993300\">7- Surface morphology was examined by optical microscope.
