department of Biology in college of education for pure science (Ibn Al-Haitham)holds a seminar entitled (The Physiology of stress in plant) read by prof.Dr.Wifaq Amjad Al-Qaiai and the instructor Asa&#8217;ad Kadum)at the hall of the Late prof.Dr.Fahad Ali Hussein<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The \u00a0lecture refers to exposure the \u00a0plants to different types of biological and non-biological stresses .These stresses lead to the so-called oxidative stress within the cells of the plant, as a result of \u00a0increase in concentrations of the values of the types of oxygen active Reactive oxygen species (ROS), which includes hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), single oxygen (1O2 ), The super oxide root (O-2) and the hydroxide root (OH); these free radicals can directly attack cell components such as cellular membranes, proteins, fats, nucleic acids and plant pigments,<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">In order to resist or tolerate high levels of ROS, the plants have developed a protective system that protects cells and limits the oxidative effects of free radicals.
