On Sunday ,the 16th of December 2018,at the hall of the late Dr.Oraibi Al-Zoobai in the department of Mathematics the MSc thesis discussion of student (Zahra Mahmood Mohammed Hassan)from department of Mathematics entitled (Common Approximating Fixed Points in a Banach Space)has been discussed<\/span><\/h3>\n

The aim of this thesis is to study the convergence (strong\/ weak) and comparing convergence for various types of iteration processes under different styles of maps. The maps will be adopted here are: quasi-non expansive, firmly non expansive, generalized non expansive and total asymptotically non expansive. Moreover, the iteration processes include two new types of one-step, two-step (Picard-Mann and Liu et al iterations), three-step (Noor iteration) and three new types of finite-step iterations<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In uniformly convex Banach space, we prove that Picard-Mann, Liu et al and Noor iterations converge strongly to a common fixed point of quasi-non expansive, lipschitzain and firmly non expansive, quasi-non expansive, lipschitzain and generalized non expansive maps<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is worth mention that the equivalence between Picard-Mann, Liu et al and Noor iterations are studied. As well as, Picard-Mann iteration converges faster than Liu et al and Noor iterations<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Here, we show that the Picard-Mann iteration can be used to find the solution of a mixed-type Volterra-Fredholm functional nonlinear integral equation and Noor iteration to solve delay differential equation<\/span><\/h3>\n

Also, we prove that three new types of finite-step iteration processes for a family of total asymptotically quasi-non expansive maps converge strongly\/weakly to a common fixed point with numerical examples to support our work. Additionally, two new types of one-step iteration processes for a family of lips chitzain and firmly non expansive maps converge strongly to a common fixed point<\/span><\/h3>\n
