In this study, hybrid compositions were prepared with dimensions (10 * 10 * 0.5cm), consists of epoxy resin (EP) and unsaturated polyester resin (UPE) with different concentration, and After finding the best mixing ratio of blend and the most suitable attenuation of radiation (50:50) % of both types, the blend was reinforced with (PbO) powder two particle size, once with a micro particle size with (5,10,15,20,30) wt.%, and again with Nano particle size with (1,2,3,4,5) wt.% ,The attenuation coefficient was measured for all prepared sample (blend, micro composite ,Nano composite) for gamma ray to find the most suitable models for the mentioned ratios , The composite sample were (30) %for the micro composite and (5) %for the Nano composite are the most suitable for both attenuation and mechanical tests, The same samples were prepared with different thickness (0.5,1,1.5,2) cm for both types of micro and Nano shields, for three composite type (The attenuation, linear (?) and mass (?m)absorption coefficient, free path rate) were measured of the new thickness, The attenuation tests were carried out by using two pointers radioactive \u00a0sources, Cesium (137Cs) with energy (0.662MeV) and Cobalt (60CO) with energy (1.173-1.332MeV), and The buildup factor was measured for energy (0.662MeV) of source (137 Cs) for (30) %wt. micro samples and for multi-layer composite, radiation was detected using the (osprey) system, which is composed of (the scintillation detector, the sodium iodide activated by thallium (“3 *” 3 NaI-Tl) and the peak analyzer, which was installed with the program (Geni 2000), also mechanical testing (hardness, impact, compression, wear) were measured and topographic tests through (AFM) for blend, micro composites, Nano composites ,the results of the study showed that attenuation and mechanical properties as a function of particle size and the concentration of reinforcement and radiation energy, The study also showed a marked improvement in attenuation properties, linear absorption coefficient (\u03bc) and mass absorption coefficient (\u03bcm), also the results of the study showed that the buildup factor increases with the increase of thickness and this is agreement with the literature study ,The results Indicate the Nano composite with concentration (5%)wt.% and with (0.5 cm) thickness are more attenuated from micro composite for same concentration and thickness, As well as the buildup factor and for the same thickness only, the results of the mechanical tests showed that these properties as a function of the reinforcement concentration for both types, As it showed improved mechanical properties by increasing the concentration of the reinforcement and to the limits of studied concentrations, and The Nano composite samples were more suitable than micro composite, therefore it was suggested prepared Multi-layer shields reinforced with Nano and micro-particles because the results indicate attenuation over single shields.<\/span><\/h3>\n
