The Abstract<\/span><\/h3>\n

The research included a comparative anatomical study of the species of Cassia L. genus of the family Fabaceae cultivated and collected from public parks and nurseries scattered in the capital Baghdad and some of the middle districts such as Al Anbar and Babil, and southern districts such as Karbala, Najaf and Dhi Qar, of Iraq.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study showed significant taxonomic overlap of the species of this genus, many of which were reclassified to another genus .Nine species were collected during the current study, four of which remained within the genus Cassiaits: Cassia fistula, Cassia javanica, Cassia nodosa and Cassia singueana, and the last three were recorded as new cultivars species for the first time of Iraq its: Cassia javanica, Cassia singueana and Cassia nodosa. The remaining five species were recorded within the newgenus \u00a0Sennaits:Senna occidentalis, Senna artemisioides,Senna didymobotrya, Senna surattensis and Senna sulfurea,two of them were recorded for the first time as new cultivars species of Iraq, its:Senna surattensis and Senna sulfureae.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The focus is on the different anatomical aspects of the stems, leaflets, petioles and calyx, and the study has shown significant taxonomic results in the isolation of the species of the Cassia and also separation of the species of Cassia from the species ofS enna.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study resulted in the differentiation of the vegetative leaflets and the calyx leaves of the Cassia species as Hypostomatic, i.e., the presence of stomata on the lower surface only. As for the species of Senna was Amphistomatic, i.e., the presence of the stomata on both upper and lower surfaces .The genus Senna is also distinguished by the presence of a special pattern of the stomata complex its: Actinocytic pattern in the speciesS. artemisioides.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The transverse sections of the stems and petioles as well as the midrib of leaves and vascular bundles form showed a variation in their shapes, which added a significant taxonomic value to the species being isolated from each other.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study of inducements was important in isolating species by relying on differences in their lengths, shapes and distribution in different areas of plant parts were all of the type of glandular hairs and uniseriate and unicellular except the species C. fistula characterized by the presence of glandular hairs on the surface of his stem and the species C. javanica it has a unique of possessing branch hairs on the epidermis of leaflets.<\/span><\/h3>\n

This study has showed the anatomy of the transverse sections of the leaflets that are of a Bifacial type, that is, it has two layers of the palisade and spongy in the mesophyll, except the species S. artemisioides, which is characterized as Isobilateral that is, it has two layers of palisade and between them spongy layer, the cross sections of the calyx leaves were Homogeneous that is, the mesophyll contains only the sponge layer<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study alsohighlighted the difference in the distribution of crystals, \u00a0starch grains and aleuronegrains; as the speciesC. nodosa was characterized by the presence of starch grains with concentric cracked hilum, oil droplets were also recorded in the two speciesC. fistula and C. nodosa. All these results have given great and distinctive anatomical taxonomic significance in the separation of the species under study, and the study is the first in Iraq.<\/span><\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
