This study was carried out on the botanical garden belonging to the Department of Biology, College of Education for Pure Sciences (Ibn Al-Haitham), Baghdad University, for the growth season 2017-2018 to test the efficacy of local marine and freshwater algae and gibberellin acid, as well as their interaction on some properties of growth, yield and active compounds of dill(Anethumgraveolens L.) plant.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The experiment was conducted using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicate, using three concentrations of both marine and freshwater algae extracts 0,50,100 mg. L-1 and four concentrations of the growth regulator gibberellins 0 , 25, 50, 75 mg. L-1<\/span><\/h3>\n

After studying some properties of growth, yield and active compounds of plant, the results indicated that the concentration 100 mg.L-1fresh water algae extraction gave a significant increase in some of studied properties as root length and size, number of plant branches, stem diameter, fresh and dry weights, absolute growth rate, biomass domain, nitrogen ratio, phosphorus, calcium, ferric contents, carbohydrate and protein ratios, chlorophyll content, the number of inflorescences, the yield of the experimental unit, the total yield and the increase in active compound \u03b1- phellandrene .While the concentration 50 mg.L-1 of marine algae extraction was given a significant increase in some of studied properties, such as length and size of root, number of plant branches, stem diameter, fresh and dry weights, absolute growth rate, biomass domain, nitrogen ratio, phosphorus, calcium, ferric contents, carbohydrate and protein ratios, chlorophyll content, the number of inflorescences, the yield of the experimental unit, total yield and the effect of active compounds(ocimene, \u03b1-phellandrene).<\/span><\/h3>\n

As for gibberell in the concentration 50 mg.L-1gave a significant increase in some studied properties such as root length and size, number of plant branches, stem diameter, fresh and dry weights, absolute growth rate, biomass domain, nitrogen ratio, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, ferric contents, carbohydrate and protein ratios, chlorophyll content, the number of inflorescences, the yield of the experimental unit, the total yield and the increase in active compound\u03b1- phellandrene.<\/span><\/h3>\n
