#993366\">Summary<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">This study is concerned with a significant application of surface chemistry in the fields of treatment of pollution. It deals with adsorption systems of chemical pollutants(some heavy metal ions) on\u00a0 surface\u00a0\u00a0 (modified chitosan). Atomic absorption spectrophotometry technique have been used to produce adsorption data at different conditions of (contact time, adsorbent weight, pH, temperature and initial concentration<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The results of this study are summarized in the following<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Chitosan was modified by the reaction benzoyl chloride with ammonium thiocyanate and then, its intermediate composite was produced with amino acids at room temperature.The chemical structures of modified polymerwas to elucidated using FTIR and 1HNMR<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Chitosan modified compounds have been evaluated as a good material for adsorption of heavy elements from water solutions. Adsorption experiments were conducted for copper ions, nickel and cobalt. This study showed that the modified chitosan compounds have good adsorption capacities for the three elements. The removal ratio is increasing with increase the pH<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The results of the process were examined using three types of isotherm , namely langmuir, freundlish and temkin . It was found that the three isotherm correspond to the experimental results.
