The Abstract<\/span><\/h3>\n

In this study, a total of 160 clinical samples included 72 burns samples, 25 wounds samples, 18 sputum samples, 24 urinary tract infections samples and 21 otitis media samples were collected from Baghdad city hospitals, during a period of 4 months from 19\/12\/2017 to 23\/4\/2018. The samples were cultured on MacConkey agar plates to isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The results showed that rate of P. aeruginosa isolates was 65% (104\/160) of total clinical samples and imipenem resistant P. aeruginosa (IRPA) rate of P. aeruginosa isolates was 37.5% (39\/104).<\/span><\/h3>\n

The results of phenotypic beta lactamases detection showed that all imipenem resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates(39\/39) was not produced extended spectrum betalactamases (0%) using double disk synergy test, while 89.7% (35\/39) of IRPA isolates was metallo-beta-lactamases producer using Imipenem-EDTA combined disk test<\/span><\/h3>\n

Result of antibiotic sensitivity test for 11 antibiotics using agar diffusion method showed\u00a0 that was no resistance (o%) in polymyxin B for all IRPA isolates (sensitivity 100%),\u00a0 high levels of resistance for the other antibiotics: cefotaxime and ceftazidime 100%, netilmicin and amikacin 94.3%, meropenem, gentamicin and tobramycin 91.4%, cefepime 88.6%. aztreonam 82.9% and piperacillin\/tazobactam77.1 % . The results of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values showed that high rate of resistance was 100% for tigecycline and ceftazdin with MICs values \u2264\u00a0 64 and\u00a0 \u2264 8 \u00b5g\/ml respectively<\/span><\/h3>\n

The molecular detection of blaIMPand blaVIMgenesresponsible partial\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 resistance for imipenem antibiotic\u00a0 showed that 74.4% (29\/39) of IRPA isolates was contained the blaIMPgene,\u00a0 while the blaVIMgene was not recorded (0%) in all bacterial isolates.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The results of biofilm formation test of\u00a0 IRPA isolates by microtiter plate\u00a0 at wave length630 nm showed that 66.7% of isolates was formed it, 56.1% and 10.3% of bacterial isolates was formed moderate biofilm and weak biofilm respectively, and 33.3% of IRPA isolates was not formed biofilm<\/span><\/h3>\n

The results of urease test of imipenem resistant P. aeruginosa isolates on skim milk agar plates showed that 93.2% (36\/39) of the isolates was produced it<\/span><\/h3>\n

The sequencing analysis for 16SrDNA gene (5 IRPA isolates) was done and the results appeared seven mutations included six substitution mutations and one insertion mutation<\/span><\/h3>\n
