style=\"color: #993366\">The Abstract<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">\u00a0In this study , the bentonite clay (B) and attapulgite clay (A) that are available\u00a0 locally in Iraq were\u00a0 modified by the addition of an effective surface material which it is sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) to produce the modified bentonite by SDS (B-SDS) and modified attapulgite by SDS (A-SDS). Another modification was also made by using nano materials (nano Ti) to form modified bentonite (B- nano Ti) and modified attapulgite (A- Ti). These surfaces were identified by several techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Adsorption of methyl violet dye on the surfaces which mentioned before were also studied in order to know the effectiveness of these surfaces and also to know if it is possible to use them as a surfaces adsorbent to treat the pollution that can be caused by using this dye. Ultraviolet \u2013 visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) has been used to identify the adsorption capacities and to know the kinetics and isothermics of adsorption at different conditions of equilibrium time, temperature, acidity function, ionic strength and surface weight. The study showed the following results:<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The kinetics samples of pseudo first order, pseudo second order, elovich and implicit molecular diffusion were applied by depending on the practical and theoretical values of adsorption amounts and correlation coefficient values() and velocity parameters values. The results indicated that the kinetic sample of pseudo second order was correspond with the adsorption of methyl violet dye from aqueous solution on all surfaces within this study<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The activation energy of adsorption processes was determined on all surfaces by depending on constant of the kinetic sample for the pseudo second order. The activation energy for the B, B-SDS, B-nano Ti\u00a0 , A , A-SDS, A- nano Ti\u00a0was 63.1015 kJ\/mole , -15.3576 kJ\/mole , 71.4846 kJ\/mole , 9.3391 kJ\/mole, 14.1130 kJ\/mole and -18.5826 kJ\/mole respectively. This indicated that the activation energies for B and B- nano Ti\u00a0require high energy (more than 40 kJ\/mole) in order to complete the adsorption process<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The adsorption process was studied at different temperatures (298K, 308K, 318K). The results showed that the adsorption amount of methyl violet dye on surfaces of\u00a0 B, B-SDS , B- nano Ti\u00a0, A, A-SDS increased by increasing the temperature (endothermic process), while it decreased for A- nano Ti(exothermic process)<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Different samples of isotherms adsorption such as Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin were applied in this study. The results of the study were not agree with Langmuir&#8217;s isotherm, whereas they were agree with Temkin&#8217;s isotherm and Freundlich&#8217;s isotherm<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The thermodynamic functions of the adsorption system were calculated. Enthalpy () value showed that the reaction was endothermic for all surfaces except the surface of\u00a0 A- nano Ti\u00a0which was exothermic.
