      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In this research, five charge transfer complexes were prepared by \u00a0reacting of some \u00a0donor \u00a0aromatic \u00a0compounds of electrons such as p-aminodiphenylamine \u00a0(PADPA), O-tolidine (O-TOL.) and p-phenylenediamine (PPDA) with iodine and dihloroaetic acid (DClAA) as electrons acceptor \u00a0using absolute \u00a0ethanol as a solvent at 25\u00b0C<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The variables such as acceptor volume, temperature, time and pH which can effect on the stability of complex compounds were studied by using UV-V is technique<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Charge transfer of these five compounds was studied using Job method and mole ratio (donor ratio: acceptor ratio 1:1), and molar absorptive coefficient\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0( ) was calculated and found to be with the range of \u00a0(2505.46- 4643.32) L.mol-1.cm-1. This indicated that type of transfer is (\u03c0\u03c0*). Sandell sensitivity was also measured and found to be from\u00a0 0.0667 to 0.1428 \u03bcg.cm-2<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 These five complex compounds were also prepared as a solid state using 1:1 for each donor and acceptor,\u00a0 and their molecular structures were identified by determination of \u00a0melting point, solubility, infrared spectra and U.V- Visible spectral<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Finally, the adsorption of p-aminodiphenylamine complex with iodine was studied on two surfaces which are locally available bentonite clay and arundo plant which were collected\u00a0 from Tigris river (Adhamiya zone). Several treatments for these samples were done in order to obtain surface that has good selectivity and activity to use it as a absorbent surface for this complex. This complex is one of the causes of water pollution that produced from manufacture of pigments and other hospital waste. The surface of the bentonite and the arundo plant were identified before and after adsorption using different techniques such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR and atomic force microscopy AFM<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UV-V is spectroscopy technique was used to determine the amount of adsorbate for the first complex (PADPA \u2013 I2) on the clay and plant surfaces under different conditions such as equilibrium time, weight of the adsorbent material (0.1-0.5 g), temperature (10,25,37.5,50 )\u00b0 C, pH (1.68-9.87), and partical size (75,150,250) \u03bcm.<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The results of this study indicated that the isotherms of complex adsorption (1) on clay and plant surfaces and using\u00a0 Frondlich and Lankmeyer equations is \u00a0L1 according to Giles classify at low temperature degrees and then they converted to\u00a0 S1 shape at high temperatures. While, in general the type of adsorption isotherms is L1 \u00a0when using the arundo plant as a surface of the complex (1<\/span><\/h3>\n

      \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The thermodynamic functions such as enthalpy (\u0394H\u00b0), entropy (\u0394S\u00b0) and Gibbs free energy ( \u0394G\u00b0) were estimated to explain the results of complex adsorption (1).
