style=\"color: #993366\">The current study was carried out during the period fromthe beginning of July 2018 until the end of March 2019, during which 335 fishes were collected from the Kamirah location on the Tigris River north of Baghdad province. The fish belonged to 12 species, included: 123 Chondrostomaregium, 55 Cyprinuscarpio, 41 Carasobarbusluteus, 32 Planilizaabu, 20 Arabibarbusgrypus, 17 Mesopotamichthyssharpeyi, 15 Oreochromisaureus, 11 Coptodonzillii, seven Cyprinionmacrostomum, five Cyprinion kais, five Luciobarbusbarbulus and four Luciobarbusxanthopterus.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">\u00a0\u00a0 The fish were internally and externally examined to study the parasites. The results showed the presence of 70 species of parasites which included: four species of Ciliophora, 28 species of Myxozoa, 37 species of Monogenea and one species of Nematoda.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">\u00a0\u00a0 In the current study, 21 species were recorded for the first time in Iraq, these included: one species of Ciliophora (Trichodinellabaltica), 12 species of Myxozoa (Myxobolusadeli, M. bouixi,M. branchilateralis, M. branchiophilus, M. impressus, M. infundibulatus, M. magnus, M. musajevi, M. paludinosus, M. pethericii, M. pseudorasboraeand M. sanagaensis), eight species of Monogenea (Dactylogyruscomizae,D. dirigerus,D. guadianensis, D. holciki,D. soufii,Gyrodactyluscapoetai,G. Slovacicus and Paradiplozoonminutum). Also, 27 species were identified as new hosts for the first time in Iraq for 26 species of parasites.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">\u00a0\u00a0 The results showed that there were differences in the location of parasites of different species of parasites recorded in the current study, most of them were external parasites infect the skin and fins and gills while one species of internal parasites .Fish species were variation in numbers, types and prevalence of infections of parasites. It was found that Carasobarbusluteushad the highest number of parasites (41), followed by Chondrostomaregium(18),cyprinuscarpio (12), Mesopotamichthyssharpeyi(7), Arabibarbusgrypusand Planilizaabu(5), Cyprinionmacrostomum(3), Coptodonzillii and Cyprinion kais (1).
