A central part of this work is the adoption of high selectivity and sensitivity of spectrophotometric technique for the quantification of Isopropamide iodide medication in its pure and pharmaceutical composite. The research composed of three sections<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chapter One\/ Introduction<\/span><\/h3>\n

This chapter provides a detailed explanation about the ultraviolet and visible absorption spectrophotometry, in addition to some chemical and structural properties of the active pharmaceutical compound of Isopropamide iodide (ISO) as well as the properties of the chromogenic reagent of Thymol blue (TB). Nevertheless, literature \u00a0have been surveyed for the analytical procedures related to the methods of determination.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chromatographic methods were commonly used for real-time quantification of multi component mixtures containing Isopropamide iodide along with other active gradients such as Trifluoperazine hydrochloride in the existence of main oxidative degradation product of Trifluoperazine hydrochloride.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chapter Two\/ Experimental Part<\/span><\/h3>\n

This chapter focuses on the production of ion pair complexes from the reaction of some pharmaceutical compounds with the Thymol blue as a coloring reagent. The formed colored complexes were separated from the bulk by a liquid extraction with chloroform. However, the absorbance of the colored extracts was measured at 404 nm as the optimum wavelength which has been measured against a blank containing Thymol blue extracted in chloroform<\/span><\/h3>\n

Using a univariate method, the optimum conditions for the spectrophotometric determination of the cited drug were obtained via an ion pair formation. Also the experimental part lists the chemicals, solvents and instruments used throughout this work as well as the description of the preparation of the standards, stock, and buffer solutions<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chapter Three\/ Results and Discussion<\/span><\/h3>\n

This section comprises the results and discussion.\u00a0 The outcomes of the study were justified to regulate the optimum conditions for the instantaneous formation of the colored ion-pair complexes in aqueous medium. The complexation reaction took place into an aqueous solution of Isopropamide iodide with a pH of 4.0. To a 1ml of Isopropamide iodide, a 0.5 ml of buffer solution with a pH of 4.0 was added, then<\/span><\/h3>\n

Followed by the addition of and 0.5 ml of 2.143\u00d710-3 M of Thymol blue reagent. Moreover, the influence of those factors affecting the chloroform extraction of the colored complexes was studied thoroughly.<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was found that 1.0 min of the Isopropamide iodide shaking time with one portion of 5 mL of chloroform was enough for the quantitative extraction of the mentioned colored product. The absorbance spectrum of the formed product is conformed to Beer\u2019s law over the concentration range of (1-40\u03bcg\/ml) having a coefficient of correlation with the excellent value of (?2= 0.9993).<\/span><\/h3>\n

The examined limit of detection (LOD) was (0.3\u03bcg\/ml) for a repeatability of (n= 3). While, the relative standard deviation (RSD %) has been calculated as a validation feature of the method and its value was within the range of (1.1938-0.5954). The recovery percentage for (n=3) was (97.4 \u2013 101.4%). The molar absorptivity was 6053.468 L.mol-l.cm-1 for the Isopropamide iodide.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The stoichiometry of the complex between drug and TB in solution was found to be 1:1 for the Isopropamide iodide versus the coloring reagent TB. This ratio was considered by implementing the approaches of continuous variation (Job) and mole ratio methods. It was found there were no interferences coming from the common excipients on the quantification of ISO drug.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The study also has concluded finding the optimum conditions and analytical parameters of the method and were efficaciously applied to the Isopropamide iodide analysis in the pure form and in the mixture of a tablet form. The approach can be functional for determining other active pharmaceutical.<\/span><\/h3>\n
