Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kamel Jassim<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Abstract<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The Boltzmann equation was theoretically solved using the BOLSIG + program for the purpose of simulating the electric discharge of gases by the fluid model in CH4 plasma and nitrogen N2 and their mixtures within different values of the reduced electric field (30-700) Td such that 1Td = 1 \u00d7 10-17 Vcm2.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Theoretically, we studied the effect of adding pure N2 nitrogen gas to CH4 methane in different concentrations, which, as to our knowledge, is being studied for the first time. This work may contribute to reducing the use of methane in industry and scientific applications, which in one way or another reduces global warming and can be considered as an addition to scientific information such as space physics, as gases are available on a number of the moons of the solar planets.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The electron energy distribution function EEDF for CH4 and N2 nitrogen has been studied separately and for their mixtures. Also the study involved the electron transport coefficientswhich include the electron mean energy \u03b5, the characteristic energy Ue, the electron mobility, electron drift velocityvd, the electron diffusion coefficient De and the swarm parameters which are included both the ionization Townsend coefficient, the attachment Townsend coefficient and the effective ionization coefficient through graphs of the various calculations of these parameters and coefficients against the reduced electric field using the MATLAB (2019) program. Igor Pro was also used to make Fitting of all electron transport coefficients and swarm parameters for the purpose of obtaining the fitting equation for each of the plasma variables under study for methane and pure nitrogen using the mentioned program.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Also, the factors affecting the electron energy distribution function were studied, which included the effect of the reduced angular frequency, and the effect of the degree of ionization on it in methane and nitrogen.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">Our calculations were compared with the available theoretical and experimental results, and we found a relatively consistent agreement with those results, given the difference in the method of solving the Boltzmann equation and the difference of the cross-section set used in the two studies.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The computations were performed in standard conditions (pressure P = 1 Torr and temperature T = 300 K and therefore, the numerical density of neutral atoms in these conditions will be .<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The aim of the research<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #993366\">The research aims to study the function of electron energy distribution, crowd parameters and associated electron transfer coefficients for pure gases (nitrogen-methane) and their mixtures with different concentrations for a large range of reduced electric field by solving the Boltzmann equation by using the free program BOLSIG + 2016 edition, and comparing the results with the results of previous researchers, especially those Related to pure gases.
