#000080\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The properties of transverse modes propagated through glass optical fibers with single-mode and multimode step refractive index were studied for a fixed numerical aperture 0.17 and for ten fiber core radii (1-10) \u00b5m and two wavelengths 850 nm and 1300 nm using RP Fiber Calculator program.We obtain a single-mode fiber when the core radius is close to the
