style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">\u00a0 In this study, wood residues were exploited to get benefits from them through preparing two types of plastic wood composites. The first type consists of thermoset polymers (epoxy resin), and the second type consists of thermoplastic polymers as a polypropylene. The epoxy composites reinforced the wood particles (reed) were prepared as a function of the concentrations (0%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%) and with different particle sizes (60, 150 and 212) mesh using the casting method. The reinforced polypropylene was prepared with particles of wood (reed) at consistent weight percentage (30 %) and particle size (212) mesh using extrusion-molding process. The difficulty of the preparation process represented by bonding the matrix material (polypropylene) and the reinforcement material (wood particles \/reed) since they are differ in their polarities. To overcome this issue, the wood particles were treated with a coupling agent (dimethyl dichlorosilane) at different weight fractions (0.2%, 0.4% and 0.5%). In addition, Magnesium oxide at (0.1%, 0.2% and 0.4%) as antioxidants, and Zinc stearate at (0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3%) as lubricants were added to the composites to improve their qualities. (P.P + W). , (P.P + W + Silane), (P.P + W + MgO), (P.P + W + Zn (C18H35O2)2) composites were obtained. The resulted samples were cut by CNC machine. Mechanical, physical and thermal properties were studied by means of the hardness, wear rate, impact strength, bending test, creep test, tensile strength, absorbance, bulk density and thermal conductivity. The results showed that the surface hardness rate and the impact strength were significantly increased with increasing the concentration of the reinforced material, where it was range between (41-61) shore D, and (8.76-23.7)KJ\/m2 for hardness and impact strength respectively. While the wear rate significantly decreased with increasing the weight fraction of the reinforced material. Also, both the surface hardness rate and the impact strength increased with decreasing the particle size. In general, all the mechanical properties were improved with the addition of wood particles.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">\u00a0 Reinforced polypropylene composites treated with silane coupling agent, Magnesium oxide and Zinc stearate show an increase in the surface hardness, impact strength, tensile strength, elastic modulus, thermal conductivity, and bulk density, while the wear rate decreased, where the highest values for these tests about (76 shore D, 55.88 KJ\/m2 ,28.29 MPa, 0.9 GPa, 0.39 W\/m.K, 0.25 g\/cm<sup>3<\/sup>).<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">\u00a0 On the other hand, the absorption showed a clear response when immersed in distilled water and the weight gain increased. While, both the absorption response and the weight gain decreased after immersing in a chemical solution. The results also demonstrated that the mechanical, physical and thermal properties of the (polypropylene\/wood particles) composites are better than (epoxy\/wood particles) composites, and the best composites were achieved for (P.P + W + Zn (C18H35O2)2) composite.
