this work, a new Schiff base ligand (HMPO), was prepared from the reaction of the 3-amino-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5 (4H) -one with 2-hydroxy-5- methylbenzalaldehyde in an acidic medium with condensation and after isolation The compound is in its solid form and diagnosed to confirm its structural composition by means of mass spectrum, FT-IR and UV-Visible. The ratio of elements (CHN) to the prepared ligand is calculated as shown in the structural formula below<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">This ligand was used in preparing coordination complexes from the ligand interaction with the transition elements ions on two groups<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The first group, ligand interacted with metal ions (II) chlorides nH<sub>2<\/sub>O (Mn, Co, Cu, Ni, Cd, and Hg) in a ratio of (2:1). The molecular formula for complexes is [ M (HMPO)<sub>2<\/sub>(H<sub>2<\/sub>O)<sub>2<\/sub>]<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The second group, mixed ligand complexes from ligand with metal ions (II) chlorides. nH<sub>2<\/sub>O of (Co, Cu, and Zn) and 2.2\u2032-Bipyridine with a ratio (1: 1: 1), The molecular formula for complexes is [M(HMPO)(bpy)Cl (H<sub>2<\/sub>O)]<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The prepared complexes were diagnosed with several techniques, including FT-IR and UV-visible of the solution in the DMSO solvent, and they gave results that correspond to those values for octahedral complexes. The results of accurate analysis of the elements (C.H.N) and the calculation of the metal ratio using the atomic absorption technique of the complexes also showed great compatibility with theoretically calculated values of the mentioned elements and the results of electrical conductivity of the prepared complexes<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The last part of this study (applications) included studying the values of thermodynamic functions \u2206H\u00b0, \u2206S\u00b0 and \u2206G\u00b0 for two systems ligand (HMPO) and [Ni (HMPO)<sub>2<\/sub>(H<sub>2<\/sub>O)<sub>2<\/sub>] complex.
