Yosif<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The present study was designed to determine some biochemical parameters in sera of Iraqi patients with ovarian cancer and also to examine the biochemical action of artemisinin compound (in different concentrations) as a mean of treatment for the same ovarian cancer patieants. The first part of the work highlighted biochemical measurements in blood, venous blood samples were collected from ninety (90) women divided into three groups:<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The first included thirty (30) women with stage 3 of ovarian cancer, the second involved thirty (30) women with stage 4 of ovarian cancer, while the third encompassed thirty (30) healthy control subjects.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The measuered biochemical parameters in the present study were: red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells.(WBCs).and.platelets.(PLT), additionally levels of urea, creatinine, vascular endothelial growth facter A (VEGFA), and protein cancer antigen 125 (CA125) were determined is sera of the studied groups. Moreover, the activities of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase.(GOT), glutamate pyruvate transaminase.(GPT).and.alkaline.phosphatase.(ALP).were.also determined in sera of all subjects enrolled in the present study.<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"direction: ltr;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #000080\">The results of the current study showed increases in the levels of the two proteins: VEGFA and CA125\u00a0 was highly significant and non significant increased in sera of stage 3 and stage 4 ovarian cancer patients respectively.
