      The aim of the current research is to identify the effect of the Zimmerman model on the scientific achievement of fifth-grade students in the subject of biology and their perceived self-efficacy. For the purpose of verifying the goal of the research, the researcher puts the following two zero hypotheses:<\/span><\/h3>\n

      – There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of students of the experimental group who are studying according to the Zimmerman model and the average scores of the control group who study according to the usual method of attaining biology.<\/span><\/h3>\n

      There is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the mean scores of the experimental group students who study according to the Zimmerman model and the control group students who study according to the usual method in the scale of perceived self-efficacy in them.<\/span><\/h3>\n

      In order to verify the validity of these two hypotheses, the researcher conducted an experiment that took a whole semester for the academic year (2020-2021). The researcher used the experimental design (partial control) of two equal, independent experimental and control groups, Salahulldeen Preparatory School for Boys, in the General Directorate of Education in Baghdad \/ Rusafa1,\u00a0 (2020-2021 AD) academic year. The sample is of (63) students, and the selection was upon division (A) consisting of (32) students to represent the experimental group and division (B) consisting of (31) students to represent the control group. The two research groups were rewarded with a number of the following variables (chronological age in months, The achievement of the last year, previous information, the measure of perceived self-efficacy) and two tools were prepared: the achievement test (25) objective items of a multiple-choice type with four alternatives and (5) essay paragraphs, while the measure of perceived self-efficacy consisted of (30) items. The validity of the two tools was verified after being presented to the arbitrators, as the data were analyzed and processed statistically by adopting the statistical program (spss).<\/span><\/h3>\n

      The results show that the experimental group students who studied according to the Zimmerman model outperformed the control group students who studied according to the usual method in the achievement test and the measure of perceived self-efficacy.<\/span><\/h3>\n

      Based on the results of the research, the researcher recommended the necessity of adopting the Zimmerman model in teaching biology for the fifth grade, because of its positive impact on students \u2019perceived achievement and self-efficacy.<\/span><\/h3>\n

      Recommendations:<\/span><\/h3>\n

      -The necessity of training biology teachers on models and methods of self-organized learning, including the Zimmerman model, because of its importance in the achievement of biology<\/span><\/h3>\n

      -Training students in colleges of education on how to teach using the Zimmerman model and other self-regulating learning models such as the Petretek model and the Wayne model<\/span><\/h3>\n

      -Preparing training programs for teachers in Iraqi universities that include how to teach according to self-organized learning strategies<\/span><\/h3>\n
